The Wooster Group

British artist Giles Bailey's (*1981, lives and works in London) performances' main subjects are arrangements and constructions of texts originating from a variety of sources, essentially deriving from literature, cinema and theatre as a starting point. One of these sources of inspiration is the theatre troupe "The Wooster Group" which was founded in 1975 in New York and is widely considered as thekey enabler of a theatre of deconstruction. In "The Wooster Group's" plays, the original texts are deconstructed, fractured and re-arranged. As guest in Le Foyer, Giles Bailey puts his involvement with "The Wooster Group" up to discussion.
