exhibition I / Gaël Epiney / 22/2/2012

Forget About Crystal Mountain

Februar 2012, 19h
Ausstellung: 23. Februar bis 3. März 2012
Öffnungszeiten: Mi–Fr: 16–20h, Sa: 12–18h

The exhibition Forget About Crystal Mountain shows recent drawings, linocuts and etchings as well as a series consisting of six round MDF-objects by Gaël Epiney (*1986, lives and works in Fully/VS and Berlin). The pictorial inventions are influenced by the artist’s involvement with the Tibetan Thangka-Painting. Structures reminding of topographical shapes and crystalline forms are essential elements in his often abstract-geometric works. By the motif of the 'Crystal Mountain', Epiney presents a partially ironic commentary on exotic projections of the affluent society in an increasingly globalized world.
